Description:
The name Satoshi Nakamoto is subtly written along the ghost whale’s ventral grooves, making it an OPSEC Bitcoin art piece. Only those who know recognize it for what it is. The ghost whale serves as a fitting analogy for Satoshi, with his estimated one million coins mined and his lasting influence on the network long after his disappearance.
Original in private collection. Prints limited to 99
"Unspent but not forgotten. A vast fortune becomes a shared gain. A donation to the public. Through his voluntary absence, the system found resilience and freedom."
The first Satoshi Whale was one of my earliest Bitcoin art pieces. The idea was to create something less obvious, a piece that could hang in a home without immediately revealing its Bitcoin theme to every visitor.
A colleague of mine liked it and suggested posting it on the original Bitcointalk forum. About a year later, I was asked to paint another whale. I refined several details in this version, including hiding the writing within the whale even more subtly. With better canvas preparation, I was also able to capture a high-quality digital version of the artwork to make prints from.
